Environment

Always strive to improve
Despite global crises, we can do better together

Responsibility isn’t just about meeting industry standards; it’s essential to who we are. Climate change is a global challenge that requires decisive action from all of us. As industry leaders, we recognize our responsibility to minimize environmental impact.

As part of this we have set official Science Based Targets initiatives – and they have been approved.

“We commit to reduce carbon emissions in our own operations by 42% and by 25% in the value chain by 2030. These reductions will put us on a course to become a net zero climate impact business by the time Spectre turns 100 years old – in 2047.”

Setting SBTi-approved targets is a meaningful way to ensure our goals align with the Paris Agreement’s mission to limit global warming to 1.5°C and clearly signal to our customers that we are just as committed to climate action as they are.

Spectre An Giang – Setting the standard

Opened in 2022

An Giang factory is Spectre’s first purpose built factory so we set out to make it our golden standard. As such we are certifying the building to meet LEED Gold criteria. For instance, the factory design and choice of materials ensure a reduction of energy consumption of almost 20% compared with basic level and it has been prioritized to use low emitting materials for the construction.

The factory is equipped with EV-ready outlets for electric cars and bikes that promote the use of green vehicles, meaning our employees can charge their electric cars and bikes at the factory parking.

Reducing our impact on the climate

We are working to reduce emissions each year.

Our science-based targets is one piece of our broader commitment to responsible business. Achieving net-zero GHG emissions means embedding sustainable practices deeply across all operations.

Since more than 90% of our emissions stem from our value chain – specifically from materials production, logistics, and distribution – we must collaborate effectively. Working closely with our suppliers, customers, and industry partners helps drive sustainable practices that impact the industry.

Rooftop solar system allows us to produce almost 50% of electricity by ourselves, thereby reducing GHG emissions by 1 600 tons of CO2 annually.

We have detailed tracking of electricity use to keep reducing our impact.

REDUCE, RE-USE, RECYCLE

unused resources

Through the use of latest cutting technologies, we optimize material utilization, and we strive to find solutions allowing us to move up the waste treatment hierarchy. We participate in innovative recycling projects to help find the solution for the waste that we can’t recycle yet. We are committed to use recycled and responsibly sourced packaging.

Going where our partners go

Together we can do even more

We work with various partners and customers to find new solutions to the challenges faced by the garment industry. We wish to play an active and relevant role in transforming the outdoor garment industry into the mindset of the circular economy.

After analyzing potential environment management systems, we decided to and have managed to certify all our factories according to the environmental management system ISO14001 which is a logical strategic step and a natural extension of our existing quality management system, ISO9001.
