MEASURING OUR SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE

As members of Sustainable apparel coalition (now called Cascale)

Spectre is committed to ensuring highest social and environmental standards at production sites and continuously improving performance. We measure our performance with Higg Index tools  – Factory Environmental Module (FEM) and Factory Social and Labor Module (FSLM). This allows us to assess where the main areas of improvement are for Spectre’s factories and also to see how well are we doing compared to others among the most committed factories that perform independently verified assessments.

FEM assessment covers topics of:

  • Environmental Management Systems
  • Energy
  • Water
  • Wastewater
  • Air Emissions
  • Waste
  • Chemicals

FEM targets for 2025

Even though there are very limited sources of air pollution in our facilities, having robust procedures on managing this environmental impact is important. None of our owned facilities fully completed Level 1 in Air emissions section of Higg FEM in 2022. By 2025 calendar year assessment we aim to improve Air emissions score to Level 2 across own facilities.

Waste management is one of our main environmental impact areas, therefore we want our facilities to have leading practices. Our facilities scored Level 1 or 2 in Waste section of Higg FEM in 2022. By 2025 calendar year we aim to improve Waste score to Level 3 across our own facilities.

 FSLM covers topics of:

  • Recruitment & Hiring
  • Working Hours
  • Wages & Benefits
  • Worker Treatment
  • Worker Involvement
  • Health & Safety
  • Termination
  • Management Systems

FSLM targets for 2025

Working hours compliance is a prevelant problem in the industry with rife use of double bookkeeping. We have made a lot of progress on and been transparent about our practices. Our 2023 average score across facilities is 83.7 points. By 2025 calendar year we aim to improve working hours score by 10% across own facilities.

We already have leading practices in many social and labor aspects but need to adjust these better to SLCP framework. Our facilities currently do not score on Step 3 criteria. By 2025 calendar year we aim to enable Step 3 scores across own facilities.
